“the need
to impose on curvy reality”
Logical reasoning certainly performs a useful function in life. But what are its limitations? For centuries we have lived in an epoch of 'reason' and 'rationality' where, since the age of the scientific enlightenment, one of the most basic underlying assumptions about the world seems to be that everything is ameniable to logic. But what if that is a fundamentally mistaken assumption?
Logic
Simon Rees
Logic is only self-evident
once we have nurtured the need
to impose on curvy reality
some bounds which are easily agreed.
Then it is only the means
by which we approximate
imaginary edges of things
where feelings originate.
